Casa Felice

6 km away from the enchanting walled town of Lucca, Casa Felice is a most elegant comfortable Tuscan country house, with all mod cons and a breathtaking park. Dating back to the 17th century, it used to be the home of Felice Matteucci, who invented and built the very first internal combustion engine in 1853 with fellow engineer Eugenio Barsanti.

The villa is nestled in beautiful private parkland with gardens and a private lake wtih swans. Outdoor facilities include a beautiful swimming pool with sun loungers and deck chairs, a superb al fresco dining area with BBQ and a romantic jasmine gazebo perfect to enjoy a refreshing cocktail while watching the sunset.

Casa Felice is arranged over two beautifully appointed floors, with original terracotta floors and high coffered ceilings.

On the ground floor: a huge living room with sat.TV, DVD player and direct access to the outside garden and dining area, a leisure room with sofas and board games, and a fully equipped kitchen with a central island perfect for cooking lessons. On this floor there is also a nice laundry room with washing machine and dryer and your personal fitness room.

On the first floor: 6 marvellous bedrooms with en-suite bathrooms. Every bedroom has a queen size bed except one where it is possible to have twin beds (can be converted into Queen). Two rooms can accommodate an extra bed on request.
All bedrooms have air conditioning and a safe. Some bedrooms overlook the pond, others the garden, swimming pool and olive groves.
