Oia’s Heaven is a stunning luxury villa rental in Oia Santorini, Greece, and it is a landmark, a point of reference for the island.

Located at the North West end of the village, Oia’s Heaven is the finest neoclassical captain-house of Oia. A jewel of the architectural trend, it has been registered as a “cultural heritage building” by the Ministry of Aegean and the Ministry of Culture. The distinguishing architectural element of the neoclassical captain – house style is the main façade which carries characteristic ornaments of strictly neoclassical type.

The recent renovation incorporates in authentic yet contemporary manner the island’s finest traditional architectural elements: ornamented façade, spacious living room, the vaulted ceilings, epoch chandeliers, hand-finished oak floors with the irregular size strips, rare antique furniture, Venetian mirrors etc.

Oia village on Santorini Island was the choice of residence of its wealthy ship owners, persons with passion as well as vision and social conscience. Since the late 19th century, they built two-storied neoclassical “palaces”, living monuments of the era of the cultural and, indeed, financial development of the village. They established a society ahead of its time.

Oia’s Heaven, a luxury villa in Santorini, was founded around 1870. Since then, four generations of the Nomicos family have lived and prospered in Oia’s Heaven, contributing substantially to the community in cultural and financial terms. They have all been gifted captains and ship-owners, ingenious businessmen, leading figures and benefactors of national acclaim.

The community’s gratitude is reflected in a multitude of ways, to name a few: The central walkway has been named after Nicolas Nomicos senior and a statue of Loucas Nomicos adorns St George square. In the early nineties Nicos Nomicos (son) financed the construction of the Maritime Museum of Thira & Loucas Nomicos (grandson) contributed substantially for the repair of the St Nicolas church.

The “captain’s house” is really a variation of the neoclassical style that seamlessly integrates folklore elements, distinguishing it from the ordinary neoclassical houses of the island.

Furniture is yet another source of luxury and refined aesthetics of the Oia’s Heaven.

Furthermore, the ground floor is a functional space with large chambers. Vaulted ceilings amplify the aesthetic of the space. In particular, the element of vaulted ceilings – curved and cross vaulted – is influenced by monastery architecture.

Hand-picked sofas, china, cabinets, Venetian mirrors, old chandeliers and exquisite works of art, were brought home from America, Odessa, Alexandria, Malta…, literally “the four corners of the world”

Furniture, priceless, rare and well-preserved antiques and architecture take the guest to the aristocratic ambiance of that historic, glorious and creative era.

Over the years, distinguished guests among them, prominent politicians, prime ministers, ship-owners, international business personalities, intellectuals and family friends have enjoyed the generous hospitality of the owners.

Hand-finished “built-in” beds, sofas and tables in organic shapes, sculptured forms and fluid lines. Plastered walls recreate the caldera’s texture in colours ranging from bright white to earthly, elegant pastel hues.

Fine screeds on the floors, lime paints and lime washes on the interior and exterior walls, natural materials based on mineral hydraulic binders, mineral aggregates and coloured earths….

All elements participate in a charming game of cosines’, of comfort, discreet luxury and quiet sophistication!

Oia’s Heaven is a large luxury house by island standards, around 400 sqm and comprises five levels: ground floor, first floor, terrace, Jacuzzi level and basement.

Wireless internet access is available everywhere. Fully air-conditioned and centrally heated it is one of the very few luxury residences inhabitable all year round.

Discrete and traditional Oia’s Heaven has four bedrooms make you feel at home, as though you’ve been there before. Special attention has been paid to providing for a good night’s relaxing sleep, a warranty to wake up in high spirit.

Beds, mattresses, pillows and linen by Coco-Mat International, a company specializing in professional bedding systems, guarantee a restful, good night’s sleep, sweet dreams that travel you to the glorious times.

All rooms are fully air-conditioned, equipped with central heating for winter stay and wireless internet connection.

On The Ground Floor the Suite comes with high vaulted ceilings, king size “built-in” bed, walk-in closet, en suite bathroom and veranda.

Also on the ground floor next to the inner terrace, another Suite features grout colored terracotta floor, Cycladic white textured walls, king size double bed, spacious wardrobe and en suite bathroom.Both rooms have direct access to the first floor and the terrace.

On the first floor there is, apart from the vaulted ceiling, the “built in” double bed and textured Cycladic white walls, has its private balcony with stunning views of the sunset and the neighboring islands.

Also on the first floor, overlooking the inner yard, is another Suite. Apart from the textured Cycladic white walls, king size double bed, spacious wooden wardrobe, this room has two large windows that provide plenty of daylight.

Both rooms on the first floor are just a few steps away from the “take your breath away” terrace. The rooms share a common bathroom with a skylight window.
